Top Five Bands in Rock History by Anıl Uzun

Rock’n Roll baby!!

Today, I wanted to write on a different topic. Previously I have posted about the history of music and rock but today I’ll talk about the bands.

The top five bands in rock history.

I wanted to give a little inspiration to our new friends to music. Even if people are not interested in the topic itself, this is a result of a lot of research and experience by a rock guitarist, so read and learn.

To be sure, there are other bands that I could not include in this list. Those in the top five are the most successful and my favourites, too. I’ll do my ranking from the end to the beginning. Well, if you’re ready, let’s get started.

5. Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd are a British progressive/psychedelic rock band formed in 1965. The group consists of five musicians. They are a cult band that most people know and love. They had been so popular that even someone who’s never heard of Pink Floyd might recognize that famous album cover where the white light runs through a triangle, breaks and creates a rainbow. So, why did I rank them in fifth place? Pink Floyd is a rock band that has sold the most albums worldwide and influenced modern music history, achieving worldwide success. Dark Side of the Moon, the band’s most popular album, spent 741 weeks on Billboard 100. Now you listen and practice Another Brick in the Wall, my favorite song by Pink Floyd.

4. Metallica

Next up is Metallica, which according to some people is quite overrated. Not for me.

Metallica is a heavy metal band formed in America in 1981 and gained worldwide fame especially after 1996.as I told you before the band is considered “overrated” by some people. That’s because hits such as Nothing Else Matters and Enter Sandman wew huge success but then they didn’t deliver songs as good as those hits. But I think that they deserve fourth rank, their success is also considerably large and they have a huge contribution to the rock music arena. We’re talking about a notable band that won many Grammy Awards.

The list’s getting hotter, isn’t it? Let’s move on to the following band.

3. Queen

Queen had the most famous lead singer that has been the subject of many films and documentaries.

Queen… I don’t genuinely know what to write about this brilliant band. Founded in 1970 in England, Queen is a band that performs in many genres of music such as rock, hard rock, heavy metal, and opera rock. Queen is such a band that has such a soloist that everyone recognizes him. That name, of course, is Freddie Mercury. You should definitely explore the inspiring life of Freddie Mercury, and I’m not detailing it in this blog post, so as not to deviate from the purpose. You can have a look at the post that I talked about Bohemian Rhapsody. Queen won awards with many memorable tracks such as We Will Rock You and Bohemian Rhapsody. This historic band has sold over 300 million albums worldwide and won many awards and will be unforgotten 100 years from now.

2. The Beatles

The Beatles are made up of real Rock Stars with everything.

The Beatles are a four-member rock band formed in 1962. Many people know them for the cover of their Abbey Road album. Perhaps because of its frontman (Paul McCartney), the band has gained huge success. In fact they had a similar problem with Queen—the frontman was ahead of the band. The Beatles have gained an enviable reputation in history with artistic and commercial achievements. From fashion to music, they have a significant part to play in today’s development. The band set many sales records and chart success with more than fifty songs. It also holds the title of being the first British band to achieve great success in the US. I guess that’s the evidence of why they’re in second rank.

1. Led Zeppelin

And here is the best rock band of all time…

Led Zeppelin is a British rock band formed in 1968. The band was so successful that it is still considered a pioneer of the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal genres with tracks Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. They are a precursor in these genres, as well as leading the lists. The band has achieved a worldwide sales success of over 300 million and has been described by Rolling Stone magazine as “Arguably one of the longest-running bands in rock history.”

A little to my own taste, a little to my research, I briefly told you about the five best bands in rock history.

Hope you enjoy it!
